‘Shin I-Rang Law Office’ Kim Kyung-Nam went head-to-head with Yoo Yeon-Seok and Lee Som.
In episode 10 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Shin I-Rang Law Office’ (directed by Shin Jung-Hoon, written by Kim Ga-Young·Kang Chul-Gyu, produced by Studio S·Mongjakso), which aired on the 11th, Kim Kyung-Nam took on the role of ‘Yang Do-Kyung’, the head of the law firm Taebaek. After suffering consecutive defeats to Shin I-Rang (played by Yoo Yeon-Seok), he faced him again in court, leading to an engaging turn of events.
Seeking to prove his abilities to his father, Do-Kyung took on a case to invalidate a will at the request of the son of the late Kang Dong-Sik (played by Lee Deok-Hwa), and devoted himself to preparing for trial. He waged a courtroom battle with I-Rang and Han Na-Hyun (played by Lee Som) over the authenticity of a will that stated part of the inheritance would be left to the child of another person. Arguing that the will was fake, Do-Kyung strengthened his case by citing the fact that the fountain pen ink used for the will dated to the period when Dong-Sik was suffering from severe dementia. Furthermore, Do-Kyung continued by revealing that the person who fabricated the will was the wife of Dong-Sik, and he flashed a brief smile as if he had seized the upper hand.
Meanwhile, on his way to deliver a grand-opening gift to Na-Hyun, who had set up a separate office, Do-Kyung was involved in a sudden fender-bender. Scowling and angry, he immediately became polite and changed his stance the moment he learned that the driver was the father of Na-Hyun. He also grumbled toward his own father, who was smiling warmly at I-Rang in the courtroom, and kept I-Rang in check, showing an attitude that contrasted with his earlier logical and cool-headed demeanor.
In this way, Kim Kyung-Nam added depth to the story by delicately portraying a character who changes according to the situation. In court, he reveals a professional side befitting a lawyer through a confident bearing and unwavering arguments, whereas in the fender-bender he shows a disarming charm by switching his attitude the instant he learns the identity of the other party. As a result, attention is focused on whether the ‘Yang Do-Kyung’ he portrays will be able to seize a victory in ‘Shin I-Rang Law Office’.
