The idol group KickFlip set a new personal first-week sales record with their new album, showcasing brilliant growth.
KickFlip’s fourth mini-album, ‘My First Kick’ (My First Kick), released on April 6, surpassed 456,167 copies in first-week sales (album sales during the first seven days from release) on the album aggregation site Hanteo Chart. Having successively outdone their own first-week results with their debut album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ (Flip it, Kick it!), the second mini-album ‘Kick Out, Flip Now!’ (Kick Out, Flip Now!), and the third mini-album ‘My First Flip’ (My First Flip), they have achieved another career high with the new album. The fourth mini-album also topped the Hanteo Chart weekly album chart (2026.04.06~2026.04.12) and the Circle Chart weekly retail album chart (2026.04.05~2026.04.11).
The new release, ‘My First Kick’, contains a total of seven tracks, including the title track ‘I Want to Be Hard to Ignore’ and the pre-released song ‘Twenty’ (Twenty), as well as ‘Stup!d’ (Stup!d), ‘Backwards’, ‘Scroll’ (Scroll), ‘Roar’ (Roar), and ‘My Direction’ (My Direction). The members are credited on every track, underscoring their musical growth. Leader Gyehun, who has gained word-of-mouth as a ‘flirting master’ for his signature sly turn of phrase, participated in crafting the title track ‘I Want to Be Hard to Ignore’, appealingly expressing the group’s Kick-ral (KickFlip-branded liveliness) energy. The music video, which distills a refreshing mood, surpassed 10 million views on YouTube on the afternoon of the 11th.
From the 9th to the 12th, they appeared on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’, KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank’, MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’, and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’, presenting stages for the title track ‘I Want to Be Hard to Ignore’ and the B-side ‘Backwards’, marking the first week of their comeback. From lyrics that convey a bouncy turn of phrase, to the group’s energetic vibe, crisp vocals, and performance skills, they showcased the ‘kick points’ that make you want to revisit their stages, flaunting the momentum of ‘next-generation masters of the stage’.
