Taemin fired up the stage at the largest music festival in the United States, the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (hereinafter ‘Coachella’)’, setting a new milestone as a Korean male solo artist.
At 7:30 p.m. on the 11th (local time), Taemin took to the Mojave stage in Indio, California, and performed a solo set of about 50 minutes. It was the first time a Korean male solo singer had been listed on Coachella’s official lineup and staged a solo performance.
The high point of the show was a symbolic opening that employed the ‘Sphere’. The first section, which began with a staging in which he broke out of a sphere shaped like a giant egg, visualized a message of ‘self-liberation’ from imposed hardship and original sin, overwhelming the audience. In this section, Taemin presented ‘Sexy In The Air’, followed by ‘WANT’, and then the new tracks ‘Permission’ and ‘PARASITE’ in succession, completing a narrative in perfect harmony with the sphere behind the stage.
The new English-language song ‘PARASITE’ left a deep impression by raising the issue of ‘hate’ in modern society. The staging stood out for using projector beams to shoot adapted lyrics and quotations, translated into Korean, onto the stage. The sensual visuals of Korean text flowing like water over the bodies of Taemin and the dancers effectively conveyed the song’s essential message beyond language barriers.

In the middle of the show, he placed his signature performances ‘MOVE’, ‘Guilty’, and ‘Heaven’, commanding the stage with his signature, lethal lines of movement. He then once again delivered the daring new track ‘Frankenstein’, before unleashing explosive energy through ‘Advice’ and ‘IDEA’.
In the latter part of the performance, he presented ‘Let Me Be The One’, ‘Sober’, and ‘1004(Oct 4th)’ in succession, taking the unusual step of premiering a total of six new songs at Coachella.

After wrapping up the stage, Taemin conveyed his thoughts through his agency: “I have waited a long time for this moment to stand on the Coachella stage,” and added, “I am truly happy to share this time with so many of you today, and I will repay you with even better performances and music in the future.” He continued, “I will cherish this moment for a long time, and I hope it becomes a good memory for you as well,” expressing his heartfelt feelings.
The on-site atmosphere was scorching. The Mojave stage was packed with tens of thousands of fans, and the audience’s mass sing-alongs to Korean lyrics testified to Taemin’s global influence. Audience members praised it as “the pinnacle of artistic depth that a K-POP solo artist can show,” and videos of Taemin’s stage drew attention on social media such as Instagram.
