The group KATSEYE saw its new single ‘PINKY UP’ take first place in the fan poll run by Billboard in the United States.
HYBE Labels stated this on the 14th, citing an announcement by the U.S. music outlet Billboard. According to the results of the poll titled ‘Favorite New Music of the Week’ released on the 13th (KST), KATSEYE recorded 50% of the vote, beating competing releases including pop star Lady Gaga.
Released on the 9th, ‘PINKY UP’ is a track that blends percussion, bass, and synth sounds. On the 10th, the day after the track was released, KATSEYE premiered the performance of the song at the U.S. music festival ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’.
After finishing the Coachella stage, member Daniela said, “I really love ‘PINKY UP’. The first stage we unveiled at Coachella was the best, and the audience reaction, especially during the dance break, was explosive.” Member Megan added, “It is a powerful song that makes you feel confident, and one the members are particularly fond of.”
Alongside their Coachella appearance, KATSEYE is continuing to enter global charts. They previously placed ‘Gabriella’, ‘Internet Girl’, and ‘Nali’ on the ‘Hot 100’, the main songs chart on Billboard, while their second EP ‘Beautiful Chaos’ stayed on the ‘Billboard 200’ for 40 consecutive weeks. With a multi-genre strategy from HYBE, KATSEYE, which debuted in the United States in August 2024, has been expanding its reach by appearing on the stages of major music festivals in succession.
