Comedian Maeng Seung-ji recounted a baffling experience of being mistaken for an adult entertainment venue employee while on her way to a set. She also drew attention by revealing that she has received DMs (Instagram Direct Messages) from men asking her to rate photos of their bodies.
In a video released on the 15th on the YouTube channel Noppakku Tak Jae-hoon, Maeng began by saying, “Something happened on my way here today.” She said, “While I was walking in Nonhyeon-dong toward the set, a man I did not know approached and asked, ‘Are you going to work?’” adding that she first thought a producer was giving her directions and answered, ‘Yes.’
She added, “I have heard Nonhyeon-dong is known for that kind of place (adult entertainment venues),” explaining that she had been mistaken for an adult entertainment venue employee.
As the conversation continued and something felt off, Maeng asked, “Where do you mean?” The man replied, “The karaoke here.”
In response, Tak Jae-hoon expressed disbelief, saying, “Why would you ask that of someone you do not even know?” After noting Maeng's white dress, Tak and Shin Kyu-jin wondered, “Why would he have misunderstood like that?” and asked her to show her jacket as well. That day, she was wearing a tweed jacket made of a shiny fabric.
Tak said, “That outfit gives off a bit of shine,” and, “You look like someone who came out planning to party,” adding to the laughter.
Maeng also said, “I receive absurd DMs,” adding, “I have received messages asking me to rate intimate parts.” She added that she has received such (body) photos about three times, including DMs sent from overseas.
