Actor Moon Geun-young visits ‘You Quiz on the Block’ looking noticeably brighter after being fully cured of a rare disease.

On the April 15 broadcast of tvN ‘You Quiz on the Block’, a teaser announced that Moon Geun-young will appear next week.

In the released teaser, Moon Geun-young appeared in a neat outfit, pairing a white shirt with a black vest, and showed a bright smile. She shared an update, saying, “In the meantime, I turned forty,” and added with wit, “I do not know whether my heart has grown as my body has, but my forties seem like they will be exciting and fun.”

She also shared the backstory of the ‘acute compartment syndrome’ diagnosed in 2017. She recalled undergoing emergency surgery at the time, saying, “I was told that, with the golden time having passed, necrosis might have begun.” She went on, “After the surgery, I said, ‘Mom, I am so glad I can finally rest without worry,’” which drew sympathy.

Currently, after four surgeries and ongoing treatment, Moon Geun-young has been declared fully recovered. When she attended the 2024 production presentation for the Netflix series ‘Hell’ Season 2, her weight gain prompted speculation about health issues, but she directly dismissed it, saying, “I am completely treated and am very healthy now.”

Meanwhile, having debuted as a child actor in 1999, Moon Geun-young received great love for playing the young version of Song Hye-kyo in the 2000 KBS2 drama ‘Autumn in My Heart’. Since then, she has appeared in a variety of projects, including the film ‘A Tale of Two Sisters’ and the dramas ‘Empress Myeongseong’, ‘My Little Bride’, and ‘Painter of the Wind’, solidifying her status as the ‘Nation’s Little Sister’.
