According to lottery trustee Donghaeng Lottery on the 19th, the story of A, who won first prize in the 104th edition of Speetto 1000 and took home 500 million KRW, is capturing public interest.

A’s good fortune began with a vivid ‘dream’. In an interview, he described the moment: “One day I dreamt that Yoo Jae-suk rescued me as I was being swept away in dirty water,” and “I had a good feeling and bought a lottery ticket right away, and, astonishingly, the first-prize message appeared.” Shortly after winning, he shared the joy with his daughter-in-law, saying it felt “as if heaven had helped.”

This is not the first time a dream featuring Yoo Jae-suk has led to a lottery win. In July 2023, a story also drew attention in which a child dreamt of Yoo Jae-suk and the family then won first prize. Some interpret this as a figure etched in the public mind as an icon of trust and diligence acting as a symbol of hope in the public subconscious.

Beyond a simple ‘windfall’, the prize money is set to be used as recovery funds for a family driven to the brink. A said the winnings will go toward repaying loans and covering moving expenses.
