KBS2 ‘2 Days & 1 Night Season 4’ broadcast capture

The fiery ‘Dangjin Passion Tour’ with the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members, U-Know Yunho, and Kang Jae-jun has come to an end.

On the April 19 broadcast of the KBS2 variety program ‘2 Days & 1 Night Season 4’ (hereafter, ‘2 Days & 1 Night’), the second installment of the ‘Dangjin Passion Tour’ set in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, was unveiled. The episode posted a nationwide rating of 5.9% (Nielsen Korea), maintaining first place in its time slot. The scene of Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, and U-Know Yunho reaching the summit of Amisan recorded a per-minute peak of 9%.

After completing a frigid sea dip and moving to base camp, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team and guests U-Know Yunho and Kang Jae-jun took on the dinner luck-of-the-draw game ‘Level Up Together’, with a ‘West Coast crab feast’ at stake. If they cleared all five stages in sequence, they could enjoy the ‘West Coast crab feast’ in full, but a failure at any point would force them to restart from stage one, making careful judgment crucial.

Powered by the fighting spirit of U-Know Yunho, which injected passion into the team, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members seemed to get off to a smooth start, advancing to stage three on their first try. However, in the second and third attempts they failed to clear even stage one, and in the fourth they got stuck on the final fifth mission after passing stage four, putting them in danger of skipping dinner.

Steeling themselves for a final attempt, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team cleared up to stage four, edging closer to the ‘West Coast crab feast’. But their bold push into stage five ended in failure again, and in the end the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team obtained no food at all. Thanks to a rescue mission cleared by U-Know Yunho and Kang Jae-jun, the members made do with rice and kimchi for dinner, lifted the dampened mood, and headed to the sleeping-arrangement game site.

The sleeping-arrangement game was ‘Dispatch Escape No. 1’, which required them to avoid CCTV and, within 15 minutes, find alphabet cushions hidden inside dozens of vehicles to complete a word. Split into the Hyung Team(Kim Jong-min∙Moon Se-yoon∙Kang Jae-jun) and the Younger Team(U-Know Yunho∙Lee Jun∙DinDin), the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members hurried from car to car searching for the cushions.

With the Younger Team making up for the slower Hyung Team by showing boundless activity and finding nearly all the cushions, they completed the correct word with about 30 seconds left, putting an exclamation point on a tense sleeping-arrangement game. Even so, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team was caught on CCTV four times during the mission, meaning four members had to sleep outdoors.

By the draw, Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, U-Know Yunho, and DinDin were assigned to sleep outdoors, while Kang Jae-jun and Lee Jun slept indoors. Lee Jun, who had to spend the night with Kang Jae-jun, the ‘snoring powerhouse’ acknowledged by Moon Se-yoon, could not hide his disappointment, as if he had been penalized, despite getting an indoor spot.

The next morning, U-Know Yunho woke up an hour earlier than the call time, catching the staff off guard. He said, “I do fasted cardio every morning,” revealing top-tier self-management, and after finishing his workout, he even roused the members before the wake-up song played, burning with passion for filming from the early hours.

Thanks to U-Know Yunho, who prompted an early rise, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team moved to separate locations one by one and wrote on their palms the name of the ‘person they felt closest to on this trip’. When the six regrouped, they revealed the names on their palms, and as a result, Kang Jae-jun-Lee Jun and U-Know Yunho-DinDin, who chose one another, enjoyed the reward of an early wrap.

Kim Jong-min and Moon Se-yoon, who failed to match, were assigned the penalty of climbing Amisan, the highest mountain in Dangjin. Moon Se-yoon quietly suggested that U-Know Yunho, who had shown another level of passion throughout the trip, join the hike, and after a brief pause, U-Know Yunho declared, “Let us go all the way!” and volunteered to take part in the penalty.

Despite the other members trying to dissuade him, U-Know Yunho said, “Since we started, we will finish properly,” and kept his passion burning to the very end. Wrapping up the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ trip, Kang Jae-jun shared, “Thanks to Seon-ho, it was an honor to film the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ I liked. Call me anytime and I will come running.”

Heading to Amisan with Kim Jong-min and Moon Se-yoon, U-Know Yunho began the hike while tossing out aphorisms such as, “To go to the next mountain, you have to come down,” and, “The remaining path is shorter than the way back.” Buoyed by his positive energy, the three reached the summit, took cheerful commemorative photos, and wrapped up a passion tour that was hotter than any other trip.

With special guest U-Know Yunho, perfectly suited for the ‘Dangjin Passion Tour’, the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team delivered a passion-filled journey from the dip to the hike, making the hearts of viewers race along with them. In addition, Kang Jae-jun, who made an emergency appearance in place of Yoo Seon-ho after a back injury the day before filming, also provided hearty laughs with his standout presence. Anticipation is building for what trip the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ team will embark on next after this most special passion tour.
