Comedian Kim Young-hee said she had ‘reinvented’ her husband, Yoon Seung-yeol, who is 10 years younger.
On the KBS2 ‘Malja Show’ that aired on the 20th, Kim Young-hee, addressing the dilemma “Should you marry someone who makes your heart flutter and is fun, or someone who is comfortable and stable?”, said, “I decided to marry because my husband is a very emotionally stable person.”
She then explained that she came to see Yoon Seung-yeol often through a gathering of acquaintances, confiding, “At the time, I had been unable to date for nearly 11 years, so I did not know how to receive someone’s compliments or how to give love.” She recalled, “Every time we met, my husband would compliment me, saying, ‘Why are you so pretty, noona?’, and I thought that was mockery,” adding, “But as he kept praising me like watering a flower, one day the door to my heart opened.”
In particular, Kim Young-hee drew laughter by revealing Yoon Seung-yeol’s daring fashion on their first date. She said, “From far away I saw someone walking toward me, and my husband’s outfit was so ridiculous I wanted to poke my knees with a needle.” She continued, “In his mind, he had dressed up. He wore a thick gold necklace and a loosely knit mesh sweater, and his nipples were visible.” She added, “From a distance, I thought he had four pupils. I wondered where to fix my eyes to greet him,” sending the scene into peals of laughter.
After that, Kim said, “So even though I did not have much money, I bought him a lot of clothes for our dates,” and added with a laugh, “These days, the comment my husband hears most is, ‘Ever since he married Kim Young-hee, he has become a decent person.’”
Meanwhile, that day Yoon Seung-yeol expressed his affection by telling Kim Young-hee, “You are someone who deserves to be loved,” and Kim in turn expressed deep love for her husband, saying, “He is someone who fell like a ray of light when I had nothing to lose. He is the one who saved me.”
Separately, Kim Young-hee married former baseball player Yoon Seung-yeol, who is 10 years her junior, in 2021, and they have one daughter.
