Actor Im Ji-seop, Fantagio
Actor Im Ji-seop (Fantagio) will make his first stage appearance in a play since his debut with ‘Dead Poets Society’.
The play ‘Dead Poets Society’ is set in the United States in 1959, at the prestigious boarding school Welton Academy that values strict rules and tradition, and it depicts the changes that unfold as the newly appointed English teacher John Keating delivers the message "Carpe Diem(enjoy the present)" to students who had been pressured to focus only on entrance exams and success.
In this production, Im Ji-seop takes on the role of ‘Knox Overstreet’. Knox Overstreet was a model student who adhered to discipline more than anyone, yet he is a romantic who musters the courage for true love.
Im Ji-seop has appeared in the dramas ‘Love Revolution’, ‘Sisyphus: the Myth’, ‘Successful Fan’, and ‘With All My Heart Today’, and in the films ‘3.5th Period’ and ‘The Eighth Sense’, steadily building a filmography of his own. In particular, in the drama ‘Wonderful World’, he transformed into the villain ‘Kwon Min-hyeok’ and, despite a short amount of screen time, left a deep impression with his intense charisma.
He also played the role of ‘Connor Murphy’ in the musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, demonstrating steady stage acting and vocal ability and showcasing his diverse talents.
Having demonstrated reliable acting across TV, film, and musical theater, attention is focused on the new transformation and onstage performance Im Ji-seop will present through his first play, ‘Dead Poets Society’.
This performance is an original, officially licensed production based on the original script by Tom Schulman (Tom Schulman), who won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay.
In the role of the teacher ‘John Charles Keating’, who teaches students how to think for themselves within an entrance-exam-centered education system, Cha In-pyo, Oh Man-seok, and Yeon Jung-hoon will appear.
The play ‘Dead Poets Society’, marking Im Ji-seop in his first appearance, will run from July 18 to September 13 at NOL Theater, Daehak-ro Woori Card Hall.
