Currently, the drama is also gaining major global popularity through the streaming service ‘Disney+’.
On the largest review site in China, Douban, a review page for ‘21st-Century Consort of the Grand Prince’ has been created, and as of the 23rd, more than ten thousand people had already participated in the star rating, with about four thousand reviews posted.
Since ‘Disney+’ is not officially available in China, it appears they watched ‘21st-Century Consort of the Grand Prince’ illegally and then left reviews.

Seo Kyung-deok, a professor at Sungshin Women University, stated, “If you search for ‘21st-Century Consort of the Grand Prince’ on the largest portal in China, Baidu, you can easily find sites to watch it for free.”
He continued, “Now, within China, ‘illegal viewing’ has become routine,” and criticized, “It is even more exasperating that they feel no shame at all.”
He emphasized, “From now on, it is time for the Chinese authorities to step forward proactively,” adding, “They must actively inform the public about the problems with the illegal acts of their citizens and take measures to ensure this does not happen again.”
