Actor Park Ji-hoon candidly shared his feelings about pressure after rising to ten-million-actor status with the film ‘The Man Who Lives With the King’ (directed by Jang Hang-jun).

Park Ji-hoon, at the production presentation for the OTT platform Tving original ‘Becoming a Legend as a Mess Cook’ (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung) held at Pullman Ambassador Seoul East Pole in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 6th, was asked about pressure for his next project after ‘The Man Who Lives With the King’ and said confidently, “I am not the type to feel pressure.”

He explained, “Rather, I thought about what I could express within the project and how I could share energy with senior actors,” and added, “I think I was a little nervous rather than feeling pressured.”

Asked about his mindset filming a military drama as someone who has not yet served, he said, “Director Jo Nam-hyung wanted someone who had not served to act, so as I understand it he cast me,” and, “I understand he pictured the awkward look a new recruit shows, thinking ‘What should I do here, should I just stay still?’, and cast me with that in mind.” He added, “I am also a military enthusiast, so I know military life to some extent, but while filming there were many things I truly felt anew. I often felt that this is how I would live once I enlist.”

‘Becoming a Legend as a Mess Cook’ is a military cook-show fantasy drama that depicts Private Kang Seong-jae (Park Ji-hoon), who wields a chef knife instead of a rifle and wears an apron instead of a cartridge belt, becoming a ‘legendary mess cook’. It is scheduled to premiere on Tving and tvN at 8:50 p.m. on the 11th.
