Actor Park Sun-Young has joined the revival of ‘Stravinsky’, signaling a new transformation on stage.

On the 6th, the production company Showplay announced the casting for the revival of the musical ‘Stravinsky’ via social media. With Park Sun-Young added to the lineup, it heralds a new round of activity for her.

The musical ‘Stravinsky’, riding the strong success of its premiere last year, has returned in just one year with a deeper staging. As the final installment in Showplay’s portrait series following the musicals ‘Nijinsky’ and ‘Diaghilev’, it depicts the conflict and reconciliation between the composer Igor Stravinsky, called the ‘Tsar of modern music’, and his longtime friend Shum.

Park Sun-Young is the first actor to play Stravinsky in all three of Showplay’s portrait trilogy‘Nijinsky’, ‘Diaghilev’, and ‘Stravinsky’and is expected to present an even more profound interpretation of the character. She will also take on the new challenge of performing two roles simultaneously in the production, Stravinsky and Shum.

Currently appearing as Stravinsky in the musical ‘Diaghilev’, Park Sun-Young has been receiving praise from audiences and critics for a performance that is both steady and delicate.

Park Sun-Young said, “I am happy to be able to continue portraying one figure across multiple works,” adding, “although taking on two roles at once is a burden, I will prepare my very best and present a fine performance.”

In this work, in the role of Stravinsky, alongside Park Sun-Young, the original cast members Sung Tae-Jun, Moon Kyung-Cho, and Lim Jun-Hyuk appear. In the role of Shum, Seo Young-Taek returns from the premiere, with Yang Ji-Won, Park Sun-Young, and Ban Jung-Mo newly joining the cast.

The musical ‘Stravinsky’ will run from June 30 to September 13 at YES24 Artone Hall 2, and the first round of tickets will open exclusively on YES24 Ticket at 11 a.m. on May 13.
