Star chef Choi Hyun-seok has truly become a grandfather in his fifties.

On the 7th, his daughter, model Choi Yeon-su, posted on Instagram, saying the delivery went well, and uploaded a photo of herself in a hospital gown giving a thumbs-up after birth.

She wrote that, fortunately, the baby was breathing independently, so there was no need for the NICU. She said she had been worried because the baby arrived too early, but the staff offered to play songs she wanted to hear, so she delivered while listening to HigeDan songs. She added that at the moment when Morangi (prenatal nickname) was born, ‘I Love’ was playing, and that she would raise the child filled with love.

She had been due on June 1, but moved the delivery up by about three weeks due to gestational hypertension.

Choi Yeon-su, daughter of Choi Hyun-seok, married Kim Tae-hyun, the vocalist of the band DickPunks who is 12 years older, last September. In December, she announced a honeymoon pregnancy.

With the pregnancy news, Choi Hyun-seok, now 54, became a grandfather-to-be, and with the birth of a son to Choi Yeon-su, he has now truly earned the description ‘grandfather’.
