MBC <21st-Century Grand Prince's Consort>

IU went down on her knees. And she did it in front of her cold, stern father, Jo Seung-yeon.

Today (the 8th), episode 9 of MBC's Fri-Sat drama ‘21st-Century Grand Prince's Consort’ (written by Yoo Ji-won/ directed by Park Jun-hwa, Bae Hee-young/ planned by Kang Dae-seon/ produced by MBC and Kakao Entertainment) shows Seong Hee-ju (played by IU) casting aside her pride to contain the leak of the premarital contract and to protect Grand Prince Ian (played by Byeon Woo-seok).

All this time, Seong Hee-ju has lived desperately, as the out-of-wedlock daughter of Castle Group chairman Seong Hyeon-guk (played by Jo Seung-yeon), to have her existence recognized by her family. Even so, her father Seong Hyeon-guk did not acknowledge the results she achieved, and as a result, the relationship between Seong Hee-ju and Seong Hyeon-guk headed for ruin.

However, after the premarital contract between Seong Hee-ju and Grand Prince Ian was uncovered and the situation worsened uncontrollably, Seong Hee-ju, for the first time in her life, is set to ask her father for help in order to protect Grand Prince Ian. In the released photos, Seong Hee-ju visits her family's home, kneels before her father Seong Hyeon-guk, and sheds tears, stirring sympathy.

Watching Seong Hee-ju, Seong Hyeon-guk, her older brother Seong Tae-ju (played by Lee Jae-won), and her sister-in-law Han Da-young (played by Chae Seo-an) all look visibly shocked. Since Seong Hee-ju decided to marry Grand Prince Ian, Seong Hyeon-guk had quietly shown concern for his daughter Seong Hee-ju as she entered the palace all alone, and attention is now on how he will respond to his daughter's searing plea.

IU's tearful struggle to protect the Grand Prince, Byeon Woo-seok, will continue in episode 9 of MBC's Fri-Sat drama ‘21st-Century Grand Prince's Consort’, airing today (the 8th) at 9:50 p.m.
