ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Doctor Seomboy'

Set to premiere on Monday, June 1, ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Doctor Seomboy' (directed by Lee Myung-woo, written by Kim Ji-su, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by The Studio M, based on the KakaoPage webtoon <Jonbeo Doctor> by writer Kim Tae-poong) on the 8th released a second teaser video that captures the tumultuous relationship between Do Ji-ui (Lee Jae-wook) and Yuk Hari (Shin Ye-eun).

Doctor Seomboy is a medical human romance about public health doctor Do Ji-ui, who sets foot on the notorious island everyone avoids, Pyeondongdo, and the nurse full of secrets, Yuk Hari. The 'island man' and 'island woman' who meet on a remote island learn to save people and to love through island villagers overflowing with warmth and backstories, delivering gentle laughs and butterflies.

Based on the webtoon <Jonbeo Doctor> (by Kim Tae-poong), which is being serialized to strong popularity on KakaoPage and Kakao Webtoon, Doctor Seomboy raises expectations for how director Lee Myung-woo, who has showcased his signature rhythmic direction and sense of humor through works like "Sonyeon Sidae" and "Yeolhyeol Saje", will create a fresh sense of excitement and emotional arcs within the romance genre. Adding to this, writer Kim Ji-su, known for delicate prose, takes charge of the script to ensure quality. Above all, the meeting of trending young actors, including Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun, is further heating up anticipation.

The second teaser released that day heightens expectations with Do Ji-ui's Pyeondongdo life that has no quiet moment. First, Do Ji-ui's intriguing narration, "Three things to avoid on the island," sparks curiosity. Having crash-landed on Pyeondongdo, everything is on his watch list. The array of 'people' hinting at the island's notoriety, and the 'incidents' that trigger his trauma, make the already unfamiliar island life even harder.

Lastly, the 'love' to be careful of - Yuk Hari's very presence - is also intriguing. She suddenly appears in the midst of Do Ji-ui's tumultuous Pyeondongdo survival story with the line, "Cross it?" Do Ji-ui draws a firm line, rejecting help with an 'iron wall', but once Yuk Hari starts crossing lines, she doesn't know how to stop. Above all, Do Ji-ui's boundaries begin to blur at Yuk Hari's warm words, "I'm not crossing the line; I just want to help," stirring butterflies. With Do Ji-ui crash-landing on Pyeondongdo full of wariness, and Yuk Hari suddenly showing up to herald an "island flutter," expectations grow for how their cheerful yet heart-fluttering romance will unfold.

Lee Jae-wook transforms into the unlucky(?) public health doctor Do Ji-ui, assigned to the much-avoided Pyeondongdo. Having unexpectedly become a 'seomboy', Do Ji-ui meets Yuk Hari on the island he wants to escape and faces a once-in-a-lifetime change. Shin Ye-eun plays nurse Yuk Hari, who returns to Pyeondongdo carrying secrets. Unable to pass by anyone who needs care, Yuk Hari finds herself exercising her 'kind meddling' when she meets Do Ji-ui, whom she can't help but want to help.

Meanwhile, ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama Doctor Seomboy will premiere at 10 p.m. on Monday, June 1 on ENA, and it will also be available on KT Genie TV and Disney Plus.
