‘The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards’
Actor Park Ji-hoon of the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ has already taken home two trophies at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, showcasing a standout presence.
On the 8th, at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at the ‘62nd Baeksang Arts Awards’, Park Ji-hoon captured the film division Best New Actor award and, in addition, the Naver Popularity Award, becoming a double winner.
Returning to the stage to receive the popularity award, Park Ji-hoon said, “I think this is an award I received thanks to votes from fans” and continued, “I am always grateful. I will keep striving to become a more admirable and sincere person. I will keep growing as an actor.”
As Park Ji-hoon built momentum by clinching two wins early in the ceremony, intense attention is turning to the future awards haul for his film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ (directed by Jang Hang-jun).
This year, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’, tied with ‘Eojjeol Suga Eopda’ for the most nominations at seven, has already drawn 16.8 million moviegoers, proving its box-office strength. With Park Ji-hoon sweeping newcomer awards and validating the praise of being called ‘the reincarnation of Danjong’, whether it will ‘sweep’ the remaining major categories is now the key point to watch.
Currently, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ is awaiting results for Best Picture and the Gucci Impact Award, as well as Best Director for Jang Hang-jun, Best Actor for Yoo Hae-jin, and Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress for Yoo Ji-tae and Jeon Mi-do. Attention is focused on whether the uplifting starting signal fired by Park Ji-hoon will carry over to senior actors such as Yoo Hae-jin and Yoo Ji-tae to complete a ‘full-team synergy’.
