‘The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards’

Director Jang Hang-jun of the film ‘The Man Who Lives With the King’ and actors Park Ji-hoon and Yoo Hae-jin showed off their cheerful wit at the ‘62nd Baeksang Arts Awards’.

Before the start of Part 2 of the ‘62nd Baeksang Arts Awards’ held on the 8th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, MC Shin Dong-yeob conducted a surprise interview. The interviewees were Park Ji-hoon, who swept the film category newcomer award and popularity award to become a double winner, and director Jang Hang-jun, the head of ‘The Man Who Lives With the King’.

Shin Dong-yeob asked Park Ji-hoon a mischievous question: “Between director Jang Hang-jun and Yoo Hae-jin, please pick your ‘one pick’.” Park Ji-hoon seemed momentarily flustered, but soon drew attention by replying, “It feels like the question of whether you like mom or dad,” while still adding, “I would choose senior Yoo Hae-jin.”

Park Ji-hoon said, “The director also trusted me and liked me, but it is because I have so many memories from sharing energy with senior Yoo Hae-jin on set,” revealing a special affection for his senior.

Next, director Jang Hang-jun took the microphone and responded with his trademark wit. When asked which award he was looking forward to, he made a slip of the tongue and said, “The directing award that makes everyone happy, no, the best picture award,” sending the audience into roaring laughter.

Jang added jokingly, “In fact, the last big award I received was a perfect attendance award in the sixth grade of elementary school,” further brightening the mood of the ceremony.
