‘The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci’

Actor Lee Sung-min won Best Supporting Actor in Film at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards for the film ‘It Cannot Be Helped’, setting a timeless record as a four-time Baeksang winner 39 years after his debut.

Yesterday (the 8th), at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at the ‘The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci’, he won Best Supporting Actor in the film category for ‘It Cannot Be Helped’. As his name rang through the venue, everyone present celebrated his win with generous applause.

In the film ‘It Cannot Be Helped’, Lee played Gu Beom-mo, a veteran of the paper industry who dreams of getting reemployed. Though pushed aside by the rapidly changing times, he chooses analog, and his performance, full of realism, earned praise from critics.

Taking the stage to accept the award, Lee said, “I met Director Park Chan-wook and, even taking part in promotional activities, had many new experiences. If the opportunity arises, I recommend that those of you here definitely work with the director,” steering the atmosphere of the venue with a witty speech. He also mentioned fellow actors Yeom Hye-ran and Park Hee-soon, showing his trademark warmth.

This win is significant in that it once again proved the ‘brand power’ of the actor Lee Sung-min. Following his recent selection as the most influential male actor at the ‘2026 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards’, he swept even ‘Baeksang’, the symbol of artistry, solidifying his standing as an ‘irreplaceable actor’ who holds both popularity and artistic merit.

An HB Entertainment representative said, “This award for actor Lee Sung-min is the result of a spirit of challenge that does not fear constant change,” and added, “He will carry this momentum into the Netflix series ‘Chamgyoyuk’ and the JTBC drama ‘Shinui Guseul’, both set to be unveiled this year.”
