Artist Muzie spoke candidly about working as a multitalented entertainer, saying, “I work hard at other kinds of work so that making music can be easier.”

Comedian Kim Tae-gyun and Muzie delivered a successful talk outing by the heroes behind the 20th-anniversary Cultwo Show on MBN’s issue-maker talk show ‘Kim Joo-Ha Day and Night’.

Episode 24 of MBN’s ‘Kim Joo-Ha Day and Night’, which aired on the 9th, featured Kim Tae-gyun, who has carried Korea’s afternoons for 20 years, and special DJ Muzie, who stood by his side for 13 years. From side-splitting stories to moving tales of filial devotion, they targeted both laughter and emotion and heated up living rooms.

Kim Tae-gyun and Muzie drew attention by revealing that MCs Moon Se-yoon and Jo Jjaez of ‘Kim Joo-Ha Day and Night’ are also part of the Cultwo Show family. Moon Se-yoon has been with Cultwo Show since 2015, and Jo Jjaez joined more recently. In particular, Muzie, who knew Jo Jjaez even before debut, joked mischievously that when he called Jo six days ago, Jo said he was in the middle of a shoot and would call back, yet they ended up meeting today on set, quipping it was a “process of change.” In response, Jo Jjaez performed a kneeling bit, sparking Tom-and-Jerry chemistry.

Kim Tae-gyun surprised everyone by revealing that in 20 years of hosting Cultwo Show he has been late zero times and missed only four broadcasts. Apart from his mother’s passing, his son’s birth, and a COVID-19 diagnosis, he never left his post, but he once stepped away to MC a pro baseball Media Day he could not miss as a baseball fanatic. He then confessed to a nerve-racking experience when the live comment section of the Media Day broadcast filled with reports like “Cultwo Show’s live broadcast is in chaos” and “Please hurry back.”

Kim added that when Muzie, who was with Cultwo Show from 2013 to 2019, took a brief detour from 2019 to 2023 as DJ of the competing program ‘Date at Two O Clock’, he had thought, “He will probably go and come back.” He went on to share that as soon as Muzie wrapped ‘Date at Two O Clock’, which he co-hosted with Ahn Young-mi, he immediately sent an invitation for him to return to Cultwo Show.

Kim Tae-gyun also looked back on memorable top-star guests who appeared on Cultwo Show over the past 20 years. He recalled asking Kim Woo-bin how it feels to have a small head and be handsome, to which he cheerfully replied, “Hyung! I feel refreshed!” Kim then lavished praise on Jo Jjaez as “a singer who appeared like a comet and a proud representative of the big-head bloodline.” In an impromptu “big-head showdown,” Jo Jjaez measured 62.5 cm and beat Kim by 2.5 cm to seize the title of “the strongest big head in showbiz,” drawing roaring laughter as Kim expressed playful regret.

Kim Tae-gyun and Muzie spread Cultwo Show’s uniquely listenable know-how, such as “urgent-poop acupressure” and “anal muscle strengthening exercises,” leaving Kim Joo-Ha in stitches. They also introduced moving stories in which the show urgently secured blood, prevented extreme choices, and even reunited divorced couples, making the “Cultwo Show magic” feel real. Kim testified that in 2012, when Lee Seung-chul, Psy, Lady Gaga, and Maroon 5 all held concerts in Korea, Cultwo Show ranked No. 1 in concert revenue, proving the show’s strength in live events as well.

Muzie, who said, “I never had a dream of being a singer; becoming only a producer was my dream,” confessed that after years of making music with little attention, the sudden flood of attention once he teamed up with Yoo Se-yoon left him with self-reproach, and he now regrets not fully enjoying the good moments because of it. Although UV started by chance, Muzie has now expanded to YouTube with ‘UV Room’. When Kim Joo-Ha, overly immersed in the mockumentary concept, scolded, “The YouTube content is so rude!”, he quipped with satisfaction, “We make it for people like this,” eliciting laughter. Muzie then drew interest by sharing that Kim Dae-Ho, whom he met through ‘Date at Two O Clock’, once confessed, “To be honest, I like clubs,” and that they have been club buddies ever since.

Meanwhile, Muzie drew attention by sharing warm family love, saying, “We go on a family trip once every one or two months, about 13 of us together.” Kim Tae-gyun said that although he was originally a non-marriage type, meeting his current wife made him decide to marry. Kim’s wife, who checked his momentum with a cool remark, “Who is going to marry you? Just date!”, once fled in embarrassment right before an onstage public proposal Kim had prepared, but she later recalled, “A week earlier, you had two bottles of soju with sundae soup and asked me to marry you! I liked that more,” warming hearts with the story of accepting his tipsy proposal.

Kim Tae-gyun shared that his father, a veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away from the rare disease salivary gland cancer when Kim was six, and it was later recognized as caused by defoliants used during the Vietnam War, granting his father national merit. Kim said he currently has both his father and mother laid to rest at the Daejeon National Cemetery. He expressed longing for his mother, who passed away from myelogenous leukemia 13 years ago, saying he has not been able to drink even a single drop of the last batch of plum syrup she made, and revealed deep filial devotion by visiting the grave at least once a month.
