As actor Kim Min-ha revealed a markedly gaunter recent look, voices of regret are emerging among members of the public who had supported her clear sense of self and natural charm.
On the 9th, Kim Min-ha posted photos to her social media along with the short phrase “Yang-ah”. In the released photos, she is wearing a pink sleeveless top and posing with a sheep-shaped bag over her shoulder. Her signature ethereal features remained, but above all, compared with before, her arms looked strikingly slender and her upper body had clearly slimmed, drawing the eye.
Under the post, internet users left worried comments such as “Why did you lose weight? You are pretty without losing weight” and “I hope you do not get hurt by what people say. People will always talk no matter what someone does”.
Previously, through interviews related to the tvN weekend drama ‘Taepung Sangsa’, which ended last November, Kim Min-ha revealed that she lost 9 kg for the role.

In the past, Kim Min-ha drew attention by confessing that after her debut she had heard criticisms like “Remove your freckles” and “Lose weight”, as well as remarks verging on abuse such as “If you do not do that, you cannot be an actor”. At the time, she said, “I am grateful that ten years on, people love me as I am”, adding, “I do not want to fit into standardized beauty standards like ‘Why is an actor fat?’ ‘Why do you have freckles?’”.
Such a confident stance from Kim Min-ha won strong support from a public tired of uniform beauty standards. In particular, unlike many actresses who maintain the so-called ‘bone-thin’ physique (a body so thin that bones are visible), the healthy, natural figure she kept without forcing herself to be thin was regarded as a distinctive charm and strength in itself.
Therefore, regarding this newly revealed extremely skinny look, some are expressing disappointment. Alongside concerns that she may have ultimately compromised due to excessive dieting or public pressure over appearance, many fans lament that her singular beauty, unbound by standardized norms, seems to have been diluted.
Kim Min-ha was recently confirmed to appear in the Disney+ original series ‘Miracle of the Namiya General Store’, and is set to continue a busy run through diverse upcoming projects including the Netflix drama ‘Kkul Alba’ and the Netflix film ‘Byeoljit’.
