Im Yoon-ah, who is active as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and as an actress, will walk the Cannes red carpet for the second time.
SM Entertainment, Im Yoon-ah's agency, announced on the 12th, “Im Yoon-ah has been officially invited to the 79th Cannes Film Festival, to be held on the 17th (local time) at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, in the capacity of ambassador for a jewelry brand.”
Im Yoon-ah's Cannes red carpet appearance will be her second. She also attended the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024 as an ambassador for the same brand, showcasing the beauty of Korea to the world. At the time, she drew attention with an updo and a pink-hued dress.
Im Yoon-ah will also attend the Kering Woman in Motion awards, which spotlight the creativity and contributions of women in the film industry, and she plans to engage with key figures from around the world.
At the recently held 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, she won the ‘Naver Popularity Award’ together with actor Park Ji-hoon, who appeared in director Jang Hang-jun's film ‘The Man Who Lives With the King’. She was also nominated for Best Actress for her role as Ahn Ji-young in the tvN drama ‘The Tyrant's Chef,’ which was nominated for Best Drama in the television category at this ceremony.
At this 79th Cannes Film Festival, among major Korean commercial films, director Na Hong-jin's ‘Hope’ has been invited to the competition section, and director Yeon Sang-ho's film ‘Group’ has been invited to the non-competition section.
