Comedian Lee Chang-ho, who has shown his passion for musicals through various comedy content, has now become a true musical actor.

His agency MetaComedy announced on the 13th, “Lee Chang-ho will make his musical debut, cast as Olaf in the Korean premiere of the musical ‘Frozen’.”

The musical ‘Frozen’ is based on the animated film that drew 10 million moviegoers and newly reimagines the globally beloved story and music on stage. After premiering in March 2018 at the St. James Theatre on Broadway in New York, it set the highest advance reservation record in Broadway history.

It has since appeared on major stages around the world, including a North American tour, the West End in the UK, Japan, Australia, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands.

Lee Chang-ho will portray Olaf, a character loved since the original. A cheerful and pure snowman, the role requires puppetry as well as acting. Lee Chang-ho plans to express the charm of Olaf even more diversely through his distinctive character and delicate acting.

Since December last year, Lee Chang-ho has taken on new challenges, participating in the script of the musical ‘Beetlejuice’ as a comedy adapter, building his footing in musicals.

The musical ‘Frozen’ featuring Lee Chang-ho is a production commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Charlotte Theater and will open in Seoul on August 13, then move to the Dream Theatre in Busan.
