KBS2 miniseries ‘Simu-myeon Yeonriri’(
In the drama, Park Sung-woong wanders the streets late at night, anxiety written all over him, as he searches for his runaway wife, Lee Soo-kyung.
In episode 8 of the KBS2 miniseries ‘Simu-myeon Yeonriri’ (directed by Choi Yeon-su / written by Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji / produced by Sim Story), airing at 9:50 p.m. on the 14th, Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) finds unexpected solace with help from Yeonriri residents.
Previously, Seong Tae-hoon clashed with Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) over their eldest son Seong Ji-cheon (played by Lee Jin-woo) quitting medical school and could not easily take either side. In addition, after detecting clues to a hidden past between the company and Yeonriri, he fell into deep contemplation when Executive Bae (played by Bae Gi-beom) offered a guaranteed promotion in return for cooperation on the project.
As a return to headquarters would lead to stability and happiness for the family, attention is on the choice before Seong Tae-hoon, and episode 8 brings an incident that shakes the Seong household. Shocked by Seong Ji-cheon deciding to quit medical school, Jo Mi-ryeo runs away from home, sending the household into turmoil.
Caught off guard, Seong Tae-hoon urgently sets out to find his wife. Growing more anxious, he wanders the streets with worry etched on his face, and as he fails to locate Jo Mi-ryeo, his unease only deepens.
Sensing the troubling atmosphere surrounding the Seong family, Lee Seon-ja (played by Lee Seon-hee) and other residents, including the ‘Rae Sisters’ elders, join forces to help Seong Tae-hoon. Amid the rough yet warm-hearted spirit of the countryside, he receives unexpected comfort and begins to experience a change of heart. Curiosity mounts about what has happened to this family and where Jo Mi-ryeo has gone.
After being persuaded by Jo Mi-ryeo, Seong Ji-cheon had gone to Seoul, but he returns to Yeonriri and faces Seong Tae-hoon. Their meeting at a life crossroads prompts a reconsideration of expectations and choices between parents and children. Interest grows over whether Seong Ji-cheon pushed ahead with quitting medical school despite opposition from his mother, Jo Mi-ryeo, and what conclusion awaits between a son who wants to live on his own terms and parents who cannot let go of their child.
