Sun-ja of the 31st cohort collapsed.
The love lines of the 31st cohort on ‘I am SOLO’ were shaken once again, with the ‘Super Date Pass’ as the turning point.
On Wednesday the 13th, the ENA and SBS Plus reality dating program ‘I am SOLO’ depicted the romances at Solonara No. 31 growing even more tangled as the ‘Super Date Pass’ mission, crossed choices, jealousy, and tears collided.
Previously, Young-sik, who was chosen by Jeong-hee and Jeong-suk for a 2:1 date, was flustered by the frozen mood from the start. Even when Young-sik tried to talk, Jeong-hee replied in short answers and stayed silent through the meal, chilling the atmosphere. In a subsequent one-on-one talk with Young-sik, Jeong-hee said, “I wish this kind of ambiguous situation would end quickly,” quietly urging him to decide. However, Young-sik offered no clear answer, saying, “I like being with you, Jeong-hee,” yet adding, “I also want to talk more with Jeong-suk.” Meeting Jeong-suk next, Young-sik asked, “What do you think of me?” and when Jeong-suk said, “You seem better than I had thought,” he looked pleased but admitted, “I still do not really know my own feelings.”
On Young-su and Young-ja’s ‘1:1 date’, cautious but unmistakable forward moves continued. During the date, Young-ja confessed, “Since coming here, I feel like I have a lot on my mind,” and Young-su showed a caring side, attentively checking on how she was feeling. The date between Young-ho and Ok-sun felt like that of longtime lovers. The two naturally talked about everything from views on marriage to honeymoon dreams, and when a New Zealand camper van trip came up, Ok-sun threw a straight line: “Alright, when shall we go?” Young-ho laughed, saying, “Nice. I think I have seen someone this easygoing.”
After the dates, at the women’s quarters, Young-suk, Ok-sun, and Jeong-hee gathered and poured out worries over their respective love triangles. Recalling her 2:1 date with Kyung-su and Sun-ja, Young-suk confessed she had felt left out, saying, “I felt like I was not even there.” She added, “Even so, he said he wanted to talk with me. But he said his feelings for me are not that big,” noting Kyung-su’s ambiguity. Hearing this, Jeong-hee empathized, “That sounds similar to him (Young-sik) right now,” and lamented, “I think I am doomed. The whole vibe seems to have grown around interest in Jeong-suk.” She even revealed an extreme thought: “If he is going to pick me by a hair’s breadth, would it not be better for him not to pick me at all?” Around the same time, in her room, Sun-ja quietly confided her struggle to Young-ja. “People in that room told me, ‘Go devour them all on the date!,’ and that is where my mental state started to wobble,” she said, revealing she had been hurt by the girls’ talk. She added honestly, “If Kyung-su wins the ‘Super Date Pass’ and uses it on someone else, I think I will feel jealous.”
Before long, the battle for the ‘Super Date Pass’ began. The first mission was to memorize the full text of poet Yu Chi-hwan’s ‘Longing’, which had been hung in the quarters. Kyung-su stunned everyone by reciting it at once. The production team explained, “This poem has been hung up every season since the 6th class, and this is the first time it has been answered correctly in the 31st.” MC Defconn applauded, saying, “Kyung-su accomplished what 306 people could not.” Next, master singer Park Ae-ri and drummer Jo Yong-su appeared for a pansori dictation showdown, where Jeong-hee and Kwang-su took first place. Finally, in the running race, Young-su and Sun-ja claimed the top spots among men and women. In the women’s race in particular, Sun-ja and Young-suk battled neck and neck until, right before the finish line, an unexpected situation occurred when Young-suk fell. Startled, Sun-ja crossed the line to the solos’ shouts of “Just go in!”
After all missions ended, Jeong-hee had a one-on-one talk with Young-sik. Jeong-hee began, “I am not sure if using the ‘Super Date Pass’ is the right move,” and Young-sik replied, “I would like you to use it on me.” However, in her interview with the production team, Jeong-hee poured out her disappointment, saying, “He still had not given me an answer, so I felt bad.”
Another round of girls’ talk unfolded at the women’s quarters. Ok-sun told Young-suk, “In our hearts, you are No. 1!,” referring to the earlier running race, and that remark was passed on just as it was to Sun-ja in the next room. Young-suk even set her own theory in motion, saying, “I think I tripped over someone’s leg earlier.” Just then, Kyung-su came to the women’s room to check on Young-suk, who had been hurt in the race. Watching this, Sun-ja hid behind the door and cried. In front of the production team as well, she agonized, “Seeing Kyung-su take care of Young-suk’s injury made my jealousy pile up again. It feels like the hard things are stacking in layers like lasagna.”
After a brief chat with Young-suk, Kyung-su sought out Sun-ja and brought up the ‘Super Date Pass’. “This may be a bit selfish, but I would like you to use the ‘Super Date Pass’ on me,” he asked. Sun-ja immediately responded with hurt feelings, “You are going to use your ‘Super Date Pass’ on Young-suk, right? Do as you like. It is your choice.” Then Sun-ja’s gastric spasm worsened, and the production team called an ambulance and took her to the hospital. In the sudden turn of events, Kyung-su fell into guilt, saying, “With the person who is my top priority struggling like that because of me, I wondered if this was right.”
Competition among the solo men over Young-ja also grew fiercer. Young-chul visited the quarters to check on Young-ja, who had caught a cold; ten minutes later, Young-su arrived and clearly expressed his interest, saying, “I plan to use my date ticket on you.” Another ten minutes later, Kwang-su also came to see her. Young-ja said, “I thought nobody liked me,” falling into a happy dilemma.
After Sun-ja left for the hospital, Kyung-su made up his mind after much deliberation. Calling out Young-suk, he said, “I had originally planned to use the ‘Super Date Pass’ on you. But seeing the person who likes me a lot hurting so much now, I realized I should focus on one person,” stoking Young-suk’s jealousy.
The 31st cohort’s romances, made even more complicated by the ‘Super Date Pass’, will continue at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday the 20th on ENA and SBS Plus’s ‘I am SOLO’.
