Actors Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun have teased a distinctive romance unfolding on an island.

On the 14th, the team behind ENA’s new MondayTuesday drama ‘Doctor Seomboy’, scheduled to premiere on the 1st of next month, unveiled couple stills of Do Ji-ui (Lee Jae-wook) and Yuk Ha-ri (Shin Ye-eun), who will become guides to each other’s happiness.

‘Doctor Seomboy’ is a medical human romance that follows public health doctor Do Ji-ui, who has landed on the notoriously shunned island ‘Pyeondong-do’, and the secretive nurse Yuk Ha-ri.

Based on the webtoon ‘Jonbeo Doctor’ (by writer Kim Tae-pung), which is being serialized to great popularity on KakaoPage·Kakao Webtoon, director Lee Myung-woo of ‘Boyhood’ and ‘The Fiery Priest’ teams up with writer Kim Ji-su, known for delicate prose, to raise the show’s quality.

The stills released today capture changes in the relationship with Yuk Ha-ri, who dismantles Do Ji-ui’s fortress-like walls. First, Yuk Ha-ri appears without warning before Do Ji-ui, who is none too pleased with Pyeondong-do, and his flustered reaction to her headset comfort method piques curiosity about their encounter.

A late-night date in the bushes was also captured. Yuk Ha-ri wears a childlike smile as she shows the treasures of Pyeondong-do, while Do Ji-ui looks on in apparent admiration. Do Ji-ui, who must endure on the notorious island ‘Pyeondong-do’, and Yuk Ha-ri, who becomes a guide leading himthe way the two seep into each other heightens anticipation.

Lee Jae-wook, on his chemistry with Shin Ye-eun, said, “It felt bright and radiant. At the same time, she is relaxed and an actor who gives her partner trust,” adding, “While working together, I felt she is an actor who is prepared at every moment. She is honest with her emotions, and that energy was conveyed naturally on set.”

Shin Ye-eun likewise said, “Just being the same age made me feel an inner sense of closeness, and my first impression was that he is a gentle person without shyness,” adding, “Not only in acting but also in the way he attentively looked after the entire set, he was mature and there was much to learn. He was a grateful partner who created a set where many actors and staff could work comfortably.”
