The sisterly bond of TWICE member Jeongyeon and actor Gong Seung-yeon is drawing attention.

At the end of the May 13 broadcast of the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block (You Quiz)’, a preview for next week featuring Gong Seung-yeon was released.

In the teaser, Gong Seung-yeon said, “I bragged to my younger sister. Even TWICE has not appeared yet,” drawing laughter. The production team then unexpectedly revealed an interview video of Jeongyeon, and upon seeing it, Gong Seung-yeon could not hide her surprise.

In the video, Jeongyeon said, “It was a time that was mentally very hard,” and confessed, “My older sister held on to me and took me to the hospital,” shedding tears.

In 2020, during treatment for a herniated cervical disc, Jeongyeon experienced Cushing syndrome as a side effect of taking steroids, and her weight increased rapidly. She subsequently took several breaks due to health issues such as panic and anxiety symptoms, but she has recently resumed activities and is meeting fans again.

In the video, Gong Seung-yeon revealed that she spent seven years as a trainee at SM Entertainment but left the company without debuting. Looking back on that time, she also confessed, “I felt truly anxious and at a loss.” After debuting as an actor, Gong Seung-yeon recently played Queen Dowager Yoon in the MBC drama ‘21st-Century Grand Princess Consort’, earning praise and great affection for her steady vocal delivery and delicate emotional acting.
