Designed to enable aspiring players to prepare for academics and careers simultaneously within the formal system
Three titles, including LoL, Valorant, and Battlegrounds, will be run… 14 schools nationwide are participating
The preseason of the ‘2026 School League,’ the first institutional school league in esports organized by the Korean Esports Association, kicks off on the 14th.
‘School League’ is a regular inter-school league operated using the esports infrastructure built on campus. It is designed so aspiring professionals can continue specialized training and development without leaving school, and participating teams are formed as official school representative teams approved by their principals.
The ‘2026 School League’ is split into first and second semesters and will feature three titles: ▲League of Legends (Riot Games) ▲Valorant (Riot Games) ▲Battlegrounds (Krafton). The first semester will run as a ‘preseason,’ aligned with the academic calendar, and will be held every Thursday starting on the 14th. However, no matches will be played from the second to the fourth week of June due to final exams. The playoffs will take place on July 4~5. After a launch event in July, the league is scheduled to operate as a full league starting in the second semester.
This tournament will see participation from 14 schools nationwide, including ▲Mirae Industrial Science High School, Eunpyeong Meditech High School (Seoul region) ▲Tongjin High School (Gyeonggi/Incheon region) ▲Gyeongnam Electronics High School, Gyeongnam Information High School, Daeyang High School, Busan Computer Science High School, Masan Jungang High School, Gyeongnam Tourism High School (Yeongnam region) ▲Gyeryong Digitech High School (Chungcheong region) ▲Korea Science and Technology High School, Yeosu Technical High School, Korea Game Science High School, Mokpo Yeonghwa Middle School (Honam region). By title, 11 teams in League of Legends, 12 in Valorant, and 9 in Battlegrounds will compete.
The ‘2026 School League’ is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korean Esports Association, and sponsored by Riot Games, Supercell, Krafton, Samsung, Micronics, and the Korea Creative Content Agency. Live broadcasts can be viewed on the official middle and high school esports YouTube channel.
