The musical ‘Beethoven’ released a making-of film capturing key cast members on set, raising expectations among prospective audiences ahead of the second ticket opening.

With the making-of film featuring the profile and trailer shoots now out, the intense character immersion of key cast members such as Park Hyo-Shin and Hong Kwang-Ho also drew attention.

On the 14th, producer EMK Musical Company released the making-of film for the musical ‘Beethoven’, which opens on June 9 at the Sejong Center Grand Theater. The video includes the profile and trailer shoots of the principal cast, offering a glimpse of the actors immersed in their roles and the distinctive atmosphere of the production.

The footage shows Park Hyo-Shin and Hong Kwang-Ho, in the role of ‘Ludwig van Beethoven’, taking part in filming fully immersed in character. Working from concepts of conducting and piano performance, the two actors captured attention by portraying Beethovens with differing moods.

Appearing alongside them as ‘Antonie Brentano’, Yoon Gong-Ju, Kim Ji-Hyun, and Kim Ji-Woo likewise drew attention, expressing the emotions of the character with distinct tones. Under lyrical lighting, the delicate gazes and expressions of the actors, which captured the characters’ complex inner worlds, further heightened expectations for the relationships and emotional arcs to be formed in the show.

The production also unveiled the key roles that will further enrich the narrative. Shin Sung-Min and Kim Do-Hyun as ‘Kaspar van Beethoven’ conveyed the deep anguish and conflict of the character with gravitas, while Park Si-Won and Choi Ho-Jung as ‘Franz Brentano’ added tension with a cool-headed yet powerful presence.

Next, Sung Min-Jae and Yoo Yeon-Jung as ‘Bettina Brentano’ delicately expressed the uniquely pure and clear aura of the character, while Lee Sang-Joon as ‘Baptiste Pichot’ and Kang Sang-Beom as the ‘Duke of Kinsky’ likewise brought out the individuality of each character naturally, heightening the sense of immersion on set. The harmonious atmosphere achieved with the principal actors gathered together further boosted anticipation for the main run.

The musical ‘Beethoven’ returns with a refreshed title, shedding the former subtitle ‘Beethoven Secret’ and going simply by ‘Beethoven’. This season reorganizes the overall narrative and character relationships and adds new songs by composer Sylvester Levay to present a more tightly woven stage.

The musical ‘Beethoven’ will run at the Sejong Center Grand Theater from June 9 to August 11, and the second round of ticket sales will open at 11 a.m. on the 19th via Sejong Culture Tickets, Melon Ticket, and NOL Ticket.
