The idol group BOYNEXTDOOR has kicked off a soaring run on short-form platforms with its new song ‘Knock Knock Knock’, nearing 20,000 related videos just four days after the track was released. This appears to be driven by a familiar doorbell sound and a punchy, tightly crafted chorus that are drawing a response.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Sungho, Riwoo, Myung Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, Woonhak) released ‘Knock Knock Knock’, a pre-release track from its first full-length album ‘HOME’, on the 11th. As of 8 a.m. on the 14th, about 18,000 videos using the song had been uploaded on the global short-form mobile video platform TikTok(TikTok).
With not even a full four days since release, content was being created at a pace of eight per minute. On the 13th, it also entered the Instagram Reels Rising Audio chart at No. 19, signaling rising popularity.
The opening of the song, which begins with a familiar doorbell sound, is drawing attention on social media. The punchy chorus that repeats “Knock knock knock BND coming at your door” and “RSVP” is likewise winning favor for its addictiveness.
‘Knock Knock Knock’ is a hip-hop track about six uninvited guests turning up everywhere without warning. It serves as a declaration of intent from the team ahead of its first full-length album. It is seeing strong results on charts in Korea, China, and Japan. It placed No. 36 on Korea Spotify ‘Daily Top Songs’ for the 12th, No. 28 on Japan Line Music ‘Daily New Songs Top 100’ for the 13th, and No. 80 on China QQ Music ‘New Songs Chart’.
The music video is also popular. On the 11th, it took first place on the YouTube daily popular music videos chart, and it sailed past 4 million views just two days after the video was released. The six members will appear on Mnet ‘M Countdown’ on the 14th to unveil the first broadcast performance of ‘Knock Knock Knock’. Having shown sharp synchronized choreography and strong charisma through the performance video, it is drawing heightened attention.
BOYNEXTDOOR will release its first full-length album ‘HOME’ on June 8. They have woven the time the team has spent and the emotions and experiences felt within it into music. Anticipation is building for the new release from a group that has been loved for self-written songs since debut.
