The song ‘Drowning’ by singer WOODZ (birth name Cho Seung-yeon) has made new history on domestic digital music charts.

‘Drowning’ recently logged 70 consecutive weeks inside the Top 10 on the Melon TOP100 chart. This set the longest-ever Top 10 record on this chart. It surpasses the 49 weeks for NewJeans ‘Hype Boy’ and the 36 weeks for BTS ‘Dynamite’.

In particular, since the resurgence that began in October 2024, ‘Drowning’ has maintained a top-tier position on major music charts to this day, extending its long-running success. Riding this popularity, it also took No. 1 on the 2025 year-end charts released by Melon, Genie, and Circle Chart.

Beyond audio, video content is also gaining traction. As of the 14th, a live performance video released in 2023 remains at No. 3 on the YouTube Korea Popular Music Videos TOP100 chart, and it has entered the South Korea weekly popular music videos chart for 81 consecutive weeks.

In addition, the stage video of ‘Drowning’ performed in military uniform on the KBS2 Armed Forces Day special of the program ‘Immortal Songs’ surpassed 30 million views in late April.

‘Drowning’ is a track on WOODZ fifth mini-album ‘OO-LI’, released in April 2023, and WOODZ wrote the lyrics and composed it himself. In March, WOODZ released the first full-length album ‘Archive.1’ and is currently promoting.
