Ha Joo-yeon, formerly of the group Jewelry, revealed her everyday life as an ordinary office worker after leaving behind her glamorous celebrity career, along with her close friendship with fellow Jewelry member Seo In-young.
On the 15th, the YouTube channel ‘Annyeonghansamyo’ uploaded a video titled ‘Why Jewelry Ha Joo-yeon Did Not Appear With Seo In-young | Single Life ep.05’.
In the video, Ha Joo-yeon drew attention with her down-to-earth routine of commuting by public transportation. Saying she goes to work by subway, she said, “I always come by subway every day,” and showed off her Climate Companion Card, drawing laughs. In particular, as she hurried to work“since I should not be late”, “I will go straight and then go right like this”she naturally mixed English into her speech, showcasing her bubbly charm.

Currently working as a manager at a French kitchenware showroom, Ha Joo-yeon also shared an amusing behind-the-scenes story from her job search. She said, “I uploaded my profile to Albamon or JobKorea. But since I did not have an ID photo taken, I used my profile photo from my celebrity days,” she admitted candidly. At lunchtime, saying, “If the price of a meal goes over the ten-thousand-won range, it is expensive,” she carefully weighed cost-effectiveness and, like a real office worker, went alone to a sundae-gukbap restaurant, showing the bittersweet reality.
The highlight of the day's video was a phone call with fellow Jewelry member Seo In-young. Calling the busy Seo In-young, Ha Joo-yeon added laughs by saying, “Since you are very busy these days, I will first try to do it.”
When the call connected, Ha Joo-yeon playfully complained that she had not been invited onto Seo In-young's YouTube content. Seo In-young replied, “I have not been able to invite you because you do not have time. I am doing it to respect your life,” and added, “Seeing you find what you want to do and work diligently makes me really want to cheer you on. Whether it turns into porridge or rice, we are all family within Jewelry,” conveying her heartfelt sincerity.
Their conversation naturally moved to blind dates. When Seo In-young advised, “Even if you just go and come back, do it (marriage),” Ha Joo-yeon said, “I like smart men. I prefer someone who works out a lot and manages himself, but character must be good,” revealing her ideal type, and Seo In-young promised to arrange a blind date.
After work, Ha Joo-yeon visited a furniture store to choose presents for her parents for Parents Day. After carefully checking sofas and beds, she turned away after hesitating over prices that exceeded her budget. She told herself, “It is not because of the price. It makes me think I should work harder,” and, “In ten years I will be about fifty. I think I will still be working hard then. And I think I will be rich. So let us endure a little longer and work a little more to earn a lot of money,” encouraging herself.
Finally, when asked about the possibility of a Jewelry reunion in ten years, she said, “By then, my body might not be able to dance well,” yet she cheerfully delivered by perfectly performing on the spot in the street the choreography to the Jewelry hit ‘Baby One More Time (Baby One More Time)’.
