The theatrical run of the biopic ‘Michael’ about ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson is drawing exceptional attention.

Anton Fuqua’s film ‘Michael’ topped the box office on the 16th, drawing 86,921 moviegoers in a single day according to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box-office computer network tally. The cumulative admissions for ‘Michael’ have surpassed 260,000.

Released on the 13th, the film has maintained the No. 1 box-office spot for three consecutive days since opening day. Starring Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, it covers his story from 1966 during the Jackson 5 era up to the period before he came to be called the King of Pop.

Chronologically, it starts with the Jackson 5 years and runs up to just before his large-scale ‘Bad’ tour.

At the box office, No. 2 was ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ with 30,518, No. 3 was ‘Salmokji’, No. 4 was ‘Super Mario Galaxy’, and No. 5 was ‘Project Hail Mary’.
