On the main broadcast of the tvN variety program ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (You Quiz) featuring actor Gong Seung-yeon, the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘21st-Century Grand Prince’s Wife’ was removed.

Episode 344 of ‘You Quiz’, ‘You Never Know Which Cloud Will Bring Rain’, which aired at 8:45 p.m. on the 20th, featured Gong Seung-yeon; actor Yoo Seung-mok, winner of the Baeksang Arts Awards Best Supporting Actor; singer-actor Rain (Jung Ji-hoon); and Jeong Tae-woong, who discovered the final fragment of the Geumgang Yeoksa statue from the Unified Silla period.

On the broadcast, Gong shared stories involving her younger sister Jeongyeon of TWICE and opened up about seven frustrated years as an SM Entertainment trainee. She said, “At 13, I was cast at a gayageum competition and was picked No. 1 for looks,” and “I trained alongside Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, f(x), SHINee, EXO, and Red Velvet.”

About how she felt after leaving SM Entertainment without debuting, she recalled, “I was sad and anxious and truly at a loss,” and “My mom said, ‘How long are you going to idle away at home?’ That hurt, but it also became a chance to get back up.”

During the broadcast, her younger sister Jeongyeon made a surprise appearance. She delivered a video message, saying, “I am so happy that my sister is very hot these days and doing well. Because my sister and I were trainees for so long, there were many ups and downs,” and “Anyway, we are both going down the right path now, and I am very grateful,” turning the set into a sea of tears.

However, remarks related to ‘21st-Century Grand Prince’s Wife’, in which Gong Seung-yeon appears as the ‘Queen Dowager’ Yoon I-rang, did not appear at all in the main broadcast. In the trailer released earlier, host Yoo Jae-suk introduced her as “She has entered her heyday after 15 years with ‘21st-Century Grand Prince’s Wife’,” and Gong herself also expressed satisfaction with taking the role, saying, “I thought I should hop on the IU·Byun Woo-seok train, too.”

Yet in the main broadcast, only the introduction stating “She has entered her heyday 15 years after debut” remained, with the title of the work omitted, and the “IU·Byun Woo-seok train” remark was deleted in its entirety.

The captions were also replaced. In the broadcast, only the short caption ‘A heyday after 15 years’ was shown. The segment featuring Gong Seung-yeon ran about 20 minutes, in contrast to Rain and Yoo Seung-mok, who each took around 30 minutes.
