The film ‘Beomjoedosi 5’(directed by Heo Myeong-haeng) has begun filming.
Distributor ABO Entertainment said on the 27th, “‘Beomjoedosi 5’ finalized its principal cast, including Ma Dong-seok and Kim Jae-young, and began filming on the 24th.”
‘Beomjoedosi 5’ depicts a crime-sweeping operation mounted by the monstrous detective ‘Ma Seok-do’(Ma Dong-seok) against ‘Lee Kang-tae’(Kim Jae-young), who begins the worst crimes after eight years of waiting.
Ma Dong-seok, the centerpiece of the ‘Beomjoedosi’ series, returns as the irreplaceable monstrous detective ‘Ma Seok-do’. Having participated in the screenplay and production, he once again leads the series as a whole. Promoted to captain of the Violent Crime Unit, ‘Ma Seok-do’ continues to fight on the front lines with an unwavering determination to catch the bad guys. He is set to engage in an extreme, unpredictable showdown against increasingly sophisticated crimes.
Kim Jae-young has been cast as the fifth-generation villain ‘Lee Kang-tae’. Having delivered dense, compelling performances in ‘Idol Idol’ and ‘Judge from Hell’, Kim transforms into ‘Lee Kang-tae’, who commits the worst crimes. Through the character of ‘Lee Kang-tae’, who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, audiences can expect to see a new side of Kim Jae-young.
That is not all. The trusted, genre-spanning actor Seo Hyun-woo plays Violent Crime Unit Team 1 detective ‘Go Young-min’. As the solid backbone of Team 1, he leads the team alongside ‘Ma Seok-do’. Actor Lee Hak-joo, who has built a solid filmography with a broad acting spectrum, appears as ‘Han Sang-gu’, an accomplice who aids ‘Lee Kang-tae’s crimes, adding tension to the plot. Additionally, multi-hyphenate actor Baek Hyun-jinwho crosses the boundaries of acting, music, variety, and artjoins as Violent Crime Unit chief ‘Kim Min-cheol’, and Kim Min-ho, who showcased outstanding comedic acting in the drama series ‘Recruit’ and in ‘6/45’, joins as ‘Buldak’, completing a diverse casting lineup. At the helm, director Heo Myeong-haengwho oversaw the series’ martial arts and directed the fourth installmentreturns to deliver his signature intense action once again.
