The girl group izna unveiled the highlight medley for its third mini album ‘SET THE TEMPO’. Its diverse genres and expanded musical spectrum are striking.

izna(Mai, Bang Jimin, Coco, Yoo Sarang, Choi Jeongeun, Jeong Sebi) posted the highlight medley for the third mini album ‘SET THE TEMPO’(Set the Tempo) on its YouTube channel on the 2nd.

The video includes behind-the-scenes footage from the concept photo shoots for three versions, drawing attention. Their eyes and poses, marked by bold confidence and conviction that whenever, wherever, and whatever are defined simply as ‘me’, are striking. In particular, portions of the audio from five new tracks that weave the ‘being myself’ identity that is signature to izna into diverse genres were unveiled for the first time, adding to the comeback buzz.

‘SET THE TEMPO’ includes the title track ‘METRONOME’(Metronome), along with ‘R.I.P.’(R.I.P.), ‘INFINITY’(Infinity), ‘ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS’(Rock, Paper, Scissors), and ‘LEAN ON ME’(Lean on Me), all organically connected to boast a high level of completeness.

The title track ‘METRONOME’ is a polished Deep House/Dance track that stands out for its highly addictive sound. Like a metronome that moves to a steady beat, it conveys a resolve to create a personal rhythm without wavering, even in a complex and chaotic world.

‘R.I.P.’, which declares a bold break from the past and a confident leap forward; the fan song ‘INFINITY’, which sings of unwavering love and trust for naya(fandom name); ‘ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS’, which playfully unpacks mind games in relationships with rock-paper-scissors as a motif; and ‘LEAN ON ME’, which contains a message of comfort about becoming a warm haven for one another in anxious moments, together span genres including Pop Rock, Synth-pop, and Hip-hop/R&B, signaling an expanded musical spectrum for izna. In particular, ‘INFINITY’ adds sincerity with members Bang Jimin and Yoo Sarang participating in the lyric writing.

The third mini album ‘SET THE TEMPO’ further sharpens the ‘being myself’ narrative unique to izna, revealing a more self-directed stance of ‘We ourselves set the standard’, rather than the standards the world expects. Since debut, izna has achieved unbounded growth wielding confidence as a weapon, and is set to captivate music fans at home and abroad with an even more intense ‘power dreamy’ performance.
