KBS2 miniseries “Simwoomyeon Yeonriri”
A flashpoint conversation scene has been captured that suggests the married couple played by Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung in the drama are reigniting their marital conflict. Also, signs of a rift are emerging in the friendship between Park Sung-woong and Lee Seo-hwan amid palpable tension.
In episode 11 of the KBS2 miniseries “Simwoomyeon Yeonriri” (director Choi Yeon-su / writers Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji / produced by Sim Story), airing at 10 p.m. on the 4th, the relationship between Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) and Im Ju-hyeong (played by Lee Seo-hwan) is shaken to its core, filling Yeonriri village with tension.
Earlier, Seong Tae-hoon took the lead in solving the problem by any means necessary to protect the village blanketed by a mysterious mycelium. After finding the cause and saving Yeonriri from the brink, Seong Tae-hoon emerged as the village’s hero, earning the trust of village chief Im Ju-hyeong as well as the residents. However, the fertilizer receipts he collected from residents were turned into consent forms for establishing a “Matstory” factory, and the situation changed dramatically.
Still cuts released on the 3rd heighten interest by capturing a tense moment in which Seong Tae-hoon and Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) face an imminent crisis. Having accidentally overheard a conversation between Jo Mi-ryeo and Nam Hye-seon (played by Nam Kwon-a), Seong Tae-hoon cannot hide his dismay at what he hears. With an icy expression, he presses her, while Jo Mi-ryeo, white as a sheet, avoids her husband’s eyes. It raises the question of whether Seong Tae-hoon has learned that Jo Mi-ryeo is being hounded over her debts.
A confrontation between Seong Tae-hoon and Im Ju-hyeong is also foreshadowed, drawing attention. Im Ju-hyeong, who had been looking at Seong Tae-hoon with a troubled expression, hands him a set of documents. Accepting them, Seong Tae-hoon examines them gravely. The unease deepens as Seong Tae-hoon, who had always been with the residents in farm work clothes, now appears in a crisp suit as if returned to his days as a department head at a conglomerate. Attention focuses on whether Seong Tae-hoon has come to side with the company’s intention to eliminate the residents’ fields and build a factory in Yeonriri, and on what he truly intends.
Watching all of this, Jo Mi-ryeo senses an unusual current in the way Seong Tae-hoon has changed. With anxious eyes, she looks in the direction he left and senses that something is amiss. With “Matstory” revealing its true colors and moving in earnest, attention turns to what is happening to Seong Tae-hoon, who has taken on a heavy burden of responsibility, as the series enters its final two episodes.
