“We want to be praised as a team that is great on stage”
The girl group FIFTY FIFTY (FIFTY FIFTY) has thrown open the doors to their comeback with the arrival of early summer.
On the 1st, FIFTY FIFTY released their fourth mini album ‘Imperfect-I’mperfect(Impeopekteu-Aimpeopekteu)’ and returned to their fans after seven months. This comeback album, ‘Imperfect-I’mperfect’, delivers the confident cry that “On days when things are a little messy, being messy as it is is quite cool,” inviting listeners into FIFTY FIFTY’s own quirky and free-spirited world.
The comeback title track ‘Like a Bubble(Laikeu eo beobeul)’ sets a contrasting boom-bap beat against instruments that feel like swimming through a dream, creating a sensuous balance. With lyrics that carry the message ‘Love me just as I am, even if I am a total mess,’ it conjures a pleasantly languid and dreamy atmosphere.
Having packed both what they do well and new challenges into the new album, they shared a determined comeback Q&A, saying, “We will show how we have grown.”

Q. The new release has generated much buzz and anticipation for your new sideshow do you feel about that?
Athena : Compared with previous albums, we felt excited during preparations because it seemed we could show a wider variety of sides. Before, we showed a lot of vocal appeal; this time we worked to capture an even broader range, including performance and rap.
Kina : This album contains a variety of vibes and emotions we wanted to try, and we had many things to consider even while recording. We would be glad if people experiencing the album feel, “This kind of side suits them, too.”
Q, If there is a point you focused on most in this album, what would you like listeners to pay attention to?
Moonchanel, Yewon : Not only what we do well, but to show new charms we put in a lot of thought and took on many challenges. The included tracks all differ in genre and mood, so we studied the tones that fit each as we recorded. If you focus on each member’s diverse vocal colors and expressiveness, you will be able to enjoy the album more fully.
Q. What are you most looking forward to in this promotion?
Moonchanel : Because we prepared so hard, these promotions carry great meaning for us. As we prepared many new styles and moods, we are already excited at the thought of showing them to Tweny (official fandom name) directly on stage, and we want to share this album’s energy while breathing together with our fans.
Athena : The performance that suits the mood of the song seems to have been completed wonderfully, so we want to show the stage soon. If, after watching, you feel, “You really prepared so hard for this promotion!”, we will feel proud and happy.

Q. In this round of activities, do you have goals you want to show, individually or as a team?
Kina : We want to hear people say we are ‘a team that is great on stage’. We want to show our unique energy and teamwork on stage even more clearly, and personally we want to become artists who can pull off any concept naturally.
Moonchanel : While maintaining FIFTY FIFTY’s own sensibility, we took on many new challenges, so with a more grown look our goal is to hear, “So they are a team that can pull off this kind of concept well, too.”
Q. This is your first comeback of the year. What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Yewon : We hope this year becomes one where we can show many more sides unique to FIFTY FIFTY. Beyond the stage, we are preparing various activities through which we can communicate more closely with Tweny and create memorable moments, so please look forward to them.
Athena : First, through this comeback we want to make many good memories with more fans. For the rest of the year, we plan to meet not only fans in Korea but also overseas fans often through various opportunities, and we are very excited as well. We will work hard so we can greet you with better music and stages, and a more grown look.
Q. A final message to the fans
Kina : Thank you so much for always sending love that is never taken for granted, and we will repay that heart by showing our best, as much as you have waited.
Moonchanel : Tweny is a great strength to me and the biggest source of motivation. Thanks to your support, we gather strength and strive to show even better sides. We are always grateful and love you very much.
