KBS announcer Lee Seung-yeon expressed support for Yang Sang-guk, who had been discouraged amid controversy over his on-air demeanor.

On the 31st of last month, Lee Seung-yeon posted a photo with Yang Sang-guk on her SNS (social networking service).

She struck a pose with Yang and left a message. She wrote, “People become clearer the closer you look,” adding, “Through broadcasts I saw laughter, and by his side I saw loyalty.” Mentioning his everyday life, she introduced him as “a younger colleague better than you might think.”

Lee Seung-yeon also told Yang, “I hope you meet a good person and also attain happiness,” adding that he is “a person whose heart is bigger than the size of his house.”

Recently, Yang received criticism from viewers for words and actions shown in several variety appearances. While discussing his views on dating, he appeared not to accept the opinions of fellow cast members, and his warning to Yoo Jae-suk, “You will be scolded,” also drew backlash.

As a result, even past segments from ‘Lovers of Joseon’ and ‘Amazing Saturday’ were dredged up, and the controversy snowballed. Yang eventually apologized on social media. When he continued to look subdued on ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’, Yoo Jae-suk offered words of advice with the nuance that “you need to be even more careful as you rise to stardom.”
