Channel A ‘Groom Class 2’
Chun Myung-hoon got scratched.
On ‘Groom Class 2,’ Lee Jung-jin will candidly reveal the full story behind his entanglement with So-wol, Chun Myung-hoon’s former almost-girlfriend.
On Thursday the 4th at 10 p.m., the Channel A program ‘Groom Class 2’ (CP Bae Han-su/PD Lim Jeong-gyu) will show a day in which ‘the straight-arrow’ Lee Jung-jin reunites with his friend Chun Myung-hoon, who lives in Yangpyeong, to catch up, and they head out for joint running training.
That day, meeting at a cafe in Yangpyeong, the two ask about how each has been lately. Previously a cast member of season 1 of ‘Groom Class,’ Chun mentions Ms. Pyo Shin-hye, a Canadian, saying to Lee, "I heard you went on a blind date with a foreigner?", and a flustered Lee answers frankly, "I am not in touch now". Chun then jokes slyly, "She was very beautiful, then how about introducing her to me?". But soon Chun, with a wistful look, mentions So-wol, a Chinese woman who was his ‘former almost-girlfriend’ whom he had liked unrequitedly for ten years, saying, "The cafe right next door is where I first met So-wol". He even says, "This is also something our So-wol gave me as a gift", showing the scarf wrapped around his neck.
In the suddenly subdued mood, Chun abruptly asks Lee, "There is a rumor going around… that it is because of you that things between So-wol and me became distant?" Lee, with an awkward smile, avoids answering, heightening the tension. As suspicion deepens, Lee makes a self-revelation: "I met So-wol not long ago". Believing that So-wol was still in China, Chun asks in a rising gradation of anger, "Did she really come to Korea?", "Where did you meet?", "I am getting a bit annoyed". With his pride scratched, Chun ends up calling So-wol to dig into the full story of her meeting with Lee. Intense interest is focused on why Lee and So-wol met separately in Korea, and what the current relationship between Chun and So-wol is.
Meanwhile, episode 11 of ‘Groom Class 2,’ aired on May 28, recorded an average rating of 1.9% (Nielsen Korea nationwide paid-platform households) and a minute peak of 2.4% (per Nielsen Korea), renewing season 2's own highest rating. In addition to dominating the ‘most-read news’ sections of various portal sites, it also proved its soaring popularity and buzz by ranking 5th (‘Groom Class 2’ Park So-yoon) in the 3rd week of May on Good Data Corporation’s ‘Fandex Chart’ for the ‘Top 10 Non-drama Search Issue Keywords.’
Viewers can see the surprise reunion of Lee Jung-jin and Chun Myung-hoon, and the ‘Gyeongbuk Yeongyang date’ of Seo Jun-young and Jung Jae-kyung, on the Channel A program ‘Groom Class 2,’ airing at 10 p.m. on Thursday the 4th.
