“I want to show my own color through diverse music and performances”
Singer Kim Jae-hwan sat down for an interview with Oricon News, a leading Japanese entertainment outlet. On the 2nd, Oricon News published the in-depth interview with Kim on its official website. From reflections on the 7th anniversary of his solo debut to thoughts on reuniting with Wanna One and words of thanks to fans, he conveyed a candid charm.
Marking the 7th anniversary of his solo debut, Kim spoke about where he feels he has grown the most, saying, “My sincerity toward the stage and music has remained unchanged from debut to now. Going forward, I want to show my own color through even more diverse music and performances,” and added, “Looking back on seven years, I feel that my heart in facing people and music has become much more steady and unwavering than before. It was a precious time in which, by being with many people, I came to understand gratitude more deeply.”
There was also talk about reuniting with Wanna One after seven years. Kim said, “Even after a long time has passed, meeting people who feel just as comfortable as ever is something I feel truly grateful for. And it seems we now listen to one another with genuine attention more than before. Because each of us has been active and gained various experiences, there are naturally many more areas where we can empathize more deeply. I feel that our care for one another has grown even stronger than before.”
Lastly, about his fans, Kim shared from the heart, “Fans are always a great pillar of support. I am truly grateful for waiting without change over a long time and for your support. I will continue to visit you often with good music and performances, and I also want to create shows where we can enjoy together at an even closer distance. I will not forget my gratitude and will strive to show you my best.”
With the digital single ‘I Will Come Pick You Up Now’ released after his discharge, Kim Jae-hwan has captured both musicality and popularity.
