‘Brave Detectives 5’ unveils a tense psychological showdown with a kidnapper targeting an elementary school student.
Episode 11 of tcast E Channel ‘Brave Detectives 5’ (directed by Lee Ji-seon), airing on the 5th, features Detective Baek Seung-ho sharing his on-the-ground investigation log.
The case introduced in the broadcast begins when a woman calls 112 with a trembling voice to report that her second-grade son has been kidnapped. The mother calmly recorded the call from the kidnapper, who threatened that unless $22,500 (30,000,000 KRW) is prepared immediately, she will never see the child again.

In response, the investigation team traced the kidnapper's phone number but could not identify the subscriber because it was a prepaid phone. The caller kept moving locations while making calls and then immediately powered off the phone after each call, making it difficult to predict movements. The team wrote response instructions on a note for the mother and proposed exchanging the child for the money collected so far. However, the kidnapper demanded that the money be deposited into a bank account, recited only an account number, and then hung up. At this, Kwak Sun-young grew angry, saying “Completely out of line,” and Ahn Jung-hwan also reacted in disbelief, saying “Did you think we were holding your money for you?”
The only clue is the voice of the kidnapper. As the nerve-racking psychological battle continues, the detective redraws the strategy to turn the tide of the case. Whether the child can return safely to the arms of the mother, and the full story of the elementary school kidnapping, will be revealed on ‘Brave Detectives 5’.
Meanwhile, ‘Brave Detectives 5’ airs every Friday at 9:50 p.m. and is also available on major OTT platforms such as Netflix, Tving, and Wavve.
