Mark, formerly of NCT, hinted at a new beginning with a suggestive move.
On the 3rd, Mark shared a post from a new account called "Upperroom (UPPERROOM)" on his social networking service (SNS). The account drew attention by posting three short trailer-style videos hinting at its identity, including a clip containing verses from the Gospel of Mark 14:12-15.
The released videos did not spell out concrete activity plans, but their tone suggested the start of a new project, piquing fans' curiosity.
Fans immediately began speculating across various online communities and SNS. According to the business registration number lookup system, Upperroom Co., Ltd. is registered as a management company in the professional, scientific and technical services sector, and the representative is listed as LEE MARK (Lee Mark).
As a result, some fans speculate that, after leaving NCT and parting ways with SM Entertainment, Mark may have set up his own one-man agency. Others increasingly expect that the account signals the starting gun for full-fledged solo activities.
Earlier, in April, Mark ended his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and left all NCT units, including NCT 127 and NCT Dream. Having been a core member of the group since his 2016 debut, his decision dealt fans no small shock.
At the time, in a handwritten letter, Mark said that as he came to the end of his 10-year contract, he began to think about what the best dream he could pursue would be, and that he wanted to devote himself fully to that dream.
He also conveyed his feelings on a fan communication platform, saying he was sorry he could not tell them first himself, and that he was grateful to and sorry for the fans who must have been very surprised.
