Younghoon, a member of the group The Boyz who had until recently been engaged in a dispute over exclusive contracts with One Hundred, founded by Chairman Cha Ga-won and MC Mong, left a suggestive remark.
On the 3rd, through a fan communication platform, Younghoon wrote, “I was watching TV today and something interesting came on. I am relieved that it seems more people can find out.”
He did not specify what the content was or what issue it was related to, but given recent developments involving him and The Boyz, some interpreted it as a remark stemming from the conflict with One Hundred.
Younghoon added, “I hope all the victims can find proper resolution.” The 3rd was the day after the 2nd, when MBC ‘PD Notebook’ aired the episode ‘MC Mong and the K-pop Trade Secrets of the Chairman’. At the time, the broadcast addressed the unsettled payment situation for One Hundred artists and staff, as well as various allegations involving Chairman Cha Ga-won and MC Mong.
In that broadcast, messages exchanged with the paternal uncle of Chairman Cha Ga-won showed MC Mong referring to dating Cha, and allegations were raised that the two had enjoyed overseas gambling in Las Vegas, and that before that, corporate investment funds had flowed into the account of Chairman Cha.
In response, the side of Chairman Cha and MC Mong denied the allegations through a legal representative and through an independently hosted live broadcast, respectively.
The Boyz, of which Younghoon is a member, had nine members excluding New notify One Hundred in February of the termination of their exclusive contracts over issues including unpaid settlements, and the court granted an injunction suspending the effect of the contracts.
Younghoon also shared his feelings at a TV Chosun ‘Survival King 2’ press conference last month, saying, “Because of company issues, I feel very helpless and frustrated.”
