YouTube channel ‘Gaeul’s Temperature’ capture
Gaeul of IVE revealed behind-the-scenes from the ‘Reading Korea’ proclamation ceremony and even shared her reading preferences. She also conveyed her distinctive affection for reading and her own reading philosophy.
On the 3rd, an episode titled ‘Let’s read together book campaign day, I tried to capture a day full of my jitters’ was released on the YouTube channel ‘Gaeul’s Temperature’.
As a campaign partner of the ‘2026 Reading Korea’ campaign, Gaeul attended the ‘Reading Korea’ proclamation ceremony and revealed footage from the ‘Mini Book Talk’ and the behind-the-scenes. First, in the ‘Mini Book Talk’ centered on reading, Gaeul introduced her routine: “I like to have time to myself before going to bed. Rather than looking at my phone, I try to fall asleep after reading at least a few pages, even just a few lines.”
In response to a question about sleep quality when she falls asleep while reading, she said, “When you use media that you end up viewing quickly, like a phone, you fall asleep without realizing how time passes. When I read, I can have thoughts of my own and organize them, which I like,” revealing her affection for reading.
On a life-defining book, Gaeul said, “There’s no need to follow what others are reading; what matters most is reading the passages, the genres, and the books that I like,” sharing her own philosophy. She added, “As a member of IVE, I talk a lot about books on YouTube. Many fans are young, and I’m glad I can introduce a variety of books as a positive influence.”
Behind-the-scenes footage from before attending the campaign followed as well. Showing her nerves, Gaeul said, “As an idol, being invited to a campaign for the first time makes me feel a great sense of responsibility,” and she confessed her firm reading tastes while talking about various genres, including detective fiction and contemporary literature.
Introducing George Orwell’s ‘1984’ as a book she has been reading lately, Gaeul said, “I enjoyed ‘Animal Farm,’ so I’m trying his other books as well. Lately, I’ve been having a lot of book talks with member Yujin.” She went on, “In fact, I want to use libraries, but I don’t think I’ve gone much since my school days. I hope many libraries open.”
Gaeul wrapped up the behind-the-scenes, where excitement and nerves coexisted, by saying, “You can read books however you want, and I think that itself is healing. I hope you all find your own way of reading.”
Every Wednesday at 9 p.m., Gaeul presents a variety of content, including a reading club, on the YouTube channel ‘Gaeul’s Temperature’.
