In the drama, Park Sung-woong, Lee Seo-hwan, and Jung Sun-chul face off in a tense three-way confrontation on thin ice.
Episode 11 of the KBS2 miniseries ‘Simu-myeon Yeonriri’ (directed by Choi Yeon-su / written by Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji / produced by Sim Story), airing at 10 p.m. on the 4th, depicts a fraught three-way standoff between Sung Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong), Im Joo-hyung (played by Lee Seo-hwan), and Noh Hyun-gap (played by Jung Sun-chul).
In the previous episode, Sung Tae-hoon succeeded in saving Yeonriri, which had been on the brink of ruin as grotesque mycelium spread over it. Afterward, the Sung family gradually blended into warm, big-hearted Yeonriri and, before they knew it, became part of the community like family. But a crisis hit when it was revealed that the residents’ fertilizer receipt slips they had signed in trust of manager Sung Tae-hoon had been switched into consent forms for the construction of a ‘Matstory’ factory.
Learning what the company really is, Sung Tae-hoon realizes he has been thoroughly used. Pressured by Executive Director Bae (played by Bae Ki-beom) and forced to choose in order to protect his family, he seeks out field manager Noh Hyun-gap, who once worked for ‘Matstory’, and hears a shocking secret. Curiosity builds over what Sung Tae-hoon heard from Noh Hyun-gap.
Meanwhile, a three-way confrontation among Sung Tae-hoon, Im Joo-hyung, and Noh Hyun-gap is foreshadowed, ratcheting up the tension. The moment Im Joo-hyung faces Noh Hyun-gap, he not only grabs him by the collar but also unleashes his fury, shouting fiercely. Seeing this side of Im Joo-hyung for the first time feels ominous.
He even ends up grabbing Sung Tae-hoon by the collar as the clash intensifies. As truths surrounding the consent forms for building a ‘Matstory’ factory come to light one by one, Sung Tae-hoon, who cares more than anyone about cabbage yet faces reality, and the unbridled rage of Im Joo-hyung are poised to collide head-on.
It is also said that the hidden backstory between ‘Matstory’ and the village of Yeonriri will be revealed, further stoking the urge to tune in live.
