Park Joon-hyung, a member of the group god, shared photos from a trip to Japan and ended up embroiled in an unexpected controversy over political overtones.

On the 5th, Park posted on his social media a photo taken in Shinjuku, Tokyo, wearing a red top, along with the caption “Yoo~ It’s Friday Night again~ Shinjuku~ everyone have a fun and safe Friday night~ baaam~!!!”. The post did not carry any particular political meaning, but some users linked it to recent election issues and offered political interpretations.

In the comments under the post, reactions such as “Showing us indirectly, our Joon-hyung”, “Re-election”, “Yoon Again”, and “Down with dictatorship” followed. Despite being a simple everyday photo, comments connected it to a specific political leaning based solely on the red clothing.

Earlier, during the main voting for the June 3 local elections, some polling stations experienced shortages of ballot papers. The National Election Commission initially announced that 14 polling stations in Seoul had paper shortages, but later corrected this to 67 polling stations nationwide based on its own investigation.

In particular, at the No. 2 polling station in Jamsil 7-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, a standoff broke out between citizens and election officials over the removal of a ballot box, and a police riot unit was deployed. Subsequently, calls for a re-election and allegations of election fraud spread on some online communities, escalating into a political dispute.

However, Park’s post was an everyday social media update with no direct relation to the controversy, and it appears he was unexpectedly caught in the crossfire as some users assigned political meaning based solely on the color of his outfit.
