Lee Seo-kyung, a cast member of 'Transit Love 3', showed support for singer and actor IU but, after facing criticism over perceived political leanings, responded directly.

On the 8th, Lee Seo-kyung revealed her fandom by leaving a comment on IU's recent social media post: "Waiting for concert news. Take your time!"

However, under that comment some users posted remarks such as "Are you left-wing?", unleashing political attacks. One user even left Chinese-language phrases related to the Tiananmen Square incident. In response, Lee Seo-kyung expressed her displeasure by leaving a comment signifying a middle-finger insult.

Recently, IU's social media comment sections have been roiled by political disputes. Although IU has not expressed any stance regarding the shortage of ballot papers during the June 3 local elections, some users are pressuring her by commenting on her recent posts: "Why aren't you prepaying at Jamsil Starbucks?", "Why are you silent about protests at the National Election Commission?"

Others, meanwhile, are pushing back, saying, "Why force IU to take a political stance?", and "You're even coming to a celebrity's personal social media to attack her." As some comments have crossed the line into abuse and malicious attacks, the conflict in the comment sections appears to be intensifying.

The backdrop to IU becoming a target of such attacks includes the prepaid support she offered during rallies calling for impeachment in December 2024. At that time, IU prepaid for food and beverages for rally participants as encouragement, and later faced criticism from some supporters of former president Yoon Suk-yeol.
