The idol group EPEX successfully concluded a busking event celebrating the 5th anniversary of their formation and the comeback with their seventh mini album. They also gave a surprise pre-release performance of the title track ‘ECHO’ from the new album.
EPEX (Wish·MU·A-Min·Baekseung·Aiden·Yewang·Jeff) on the 7th held the release-commemorative busking ‘POP-UP PERFORMANCE’ for their seventh mini album ‘Sohwa : Epilogue (Sohwa : Epilogue)’ at Chorokgil Square in Mangwon Hangang Park and at Culture Square by Myeonmok Station in Seoul.
The pop-up performance was an occasion where EPEX, ahead of their comeback, presented a variety of stages in a busking format, including new songs. On the 6th, the day before the busking, they personally went around the Hongdae and Seongsu-dong areas handing out flyers, raising anticipation among fans.
Through the busking, EPEX gave a surprise pre-release of the chorus section of the title track ‘ECHO (Echo)’ from the seventh mini album. With energetic lines in their choreography, the members freely led the intense hip-hop sound, captivating both eyes and ears.
EPEX also heated up the scene by showcasing, with even more upgraded teamwork, the title track ‘Tearfully Grateful’ from their previous third full-length album ‘Sohwa Chapter 3 : Romantic Youth’, along with the tracks ‘Dance with Wolves’ and ‘A Night of Counting Stars’. With the stage ‘The Day the Fox Gets Married’, they delivered a pleasantly refreshing vibe and received an enthusiastic response.
On the 5th and 7th, EPEX further fueled the comeback fever by releasing two music video teasers for the title track ‘ECHO’ on their official social media and YouTube channels. In the teasers, the members either simultaneously strike a ‘shh’ gesture in a space reminiscent of an office or are seen busily running somewhere, grabbing attention. Then, in a dark mood, they remove the masks they had been wearing and present a powerful group dance, heightening curiosity for the main release.
Having debuted on June 8, 2021 and built a solid universe through a unique album series of their own, EPEX marked the 5th anniversary of debut on the 8th. With the seventh mini album ‘Sohwa : Epilogue’, in which all members directly took part in the production for the first time since debut, they plan to prove significant musical growth.
All tracks of the seventh mini album ‘Sohwa : Epilogue’, which encapsulates EPEX’s capabilities, and the music video for the title track ‘ECHO’ will be released on various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 9th.
