Broadcaster Ahn Sun-young revealed that she went to a test center to take an internationally recognized English exam but, after missing the entry cutoff time, was unable to sit for the test.

On the 9th, via her social media, Ahn recounted what happened on test day, saying, “Unable to find the parking lot, I circled a one-way road several times.”

She said, “I finally finished parking and arrived at the test center, but I was told I could not enter because it was a little past 8:50 a.m.” The exam was reportedly scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

She continued, “The test fee alone is $225 (300,000 KRW), and even after coming all the way to the site, when I asked whether there was really no way, I was told, ‘That is why you need to come early.’”

She went on, “It was a fair point, but I had struggled to clear an entire day for the exam,” adding, “At the very least, include some parking info...”

Ahn had previously shared on social media that she was preparing for the IELTS exam. Along with images of herself studying, she posted, “After all this, at my age I am preparing for the IELTS,” conveying the efforts she had made to take the test.

However, after the story became known, netizens reacted with comments such as “Adhering to the test time is basic,” “You should have checked the parking location in advance,” and “Entry rules must apply equally to everyone,” showing little sympathy for Ahn’s regretful account.

Meanwhile, IELTS (IELTS) is an internationally recognized English exam that assesses proficiency through the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sections. It is mainly taken by candidates preparing for study abroad, employment, and immigration.
